Laurie + Ed: A Love Story
The Love story started when…
Laurie and Ed found themselves in the same Doctors waiting room. Ed noticed Laurie right away saying, “I thought she was very attractive in a natural and outdoorsy way.” He has no idea who this natural beauty was and never expected to see her again. As luck would have it, on a random fated day they happened to be turning onto the same street and for a moment they locked eyes. It made Ed even more curious about this mystery woman.
These two were written in the stars, as Ed tells us that he moved into a new apartment 6 months after their last chance encounter he ran into Laurie again. “I had gotten up early to go looking for a nearby restaurant for breakfast. The waitress was the girl from the Doctor’s office and street.
Ed went back to the restaurant every morning for 2 months to see Laurie before finally asking her on a date. He asked her to the movies, and she said yes! They were married about 9 months later. Ed often recalls the 2 brief encounters they had…especially the Doctors office. Noticing this girl, never realizing that I was looking at my future wife and the mother of my children, and now here we are - celebrating half a century of marriage.
“The Truth is, I do not have any great insight as to what makes a marriage work, or what makes a marriage fail. What I do know is there has never been a moment since we married, and for some time before that, that I could imagine my life without Laurie in it. She is the love of my life.”
